"Mark and Renee lead you into an encounter with that mysterious side that reaches out beyond words. They lead you toward a discovery in which those whispers of the sacred--found in the best of old folktales and rabbinic literature--are also found in the shape of our own personal stories. In the generous space that Mark and Renee create, we learn of all the many ways--sad, beautiful, humorous--that God finds us in our lives." Jay - Vancouver Theological School Seminary student
Participating in the first cohort ofDiscoverYourself! with Shulamit, was the opening of a door to telling my story that has long been waiting to be written. In 2- 3 hour online small group gatherings, Shulamit’s gentle direction provided a non judgemental, supportive path that helped me to bring my words out of my head and onto paper with an ease and flow. Knowing there are many more chapters to be written, I decided to participate in the second cohort where I was able to practice and gain confidence with my newly developing story writing tools. An unexpected and wonderful bonus was my own personal transformation that came with hearing the shared eye and heart opening stories of what goes on in other people’s lives and their stories Everyone has an important story to tell. Is it time to tell yours? Y.S. Fairfax, Virginia “As I heard what others shared, and shared my own story, I realized that there was a story TELLER in me! My heart was touched by the stories shared by my cohort, and I could feel their hearts, their souls opening to me, and that we were in a sacred place.” Educator - Ann Arbor, WI
"As I attended the class, I came to realize how compelling and powerful stories are. Stories connect people. Stories are the means by which people make sense of their lives. Stories create meaning. Stories are sacred, and everyone has a story. In the class, we learned about different kinds of story and how we could use that in our everyday life, in the life of the church, in counseling, in our lives." Karen, Vancouver Theological Seminary student
